GEWO Symposium
A Mission-Centric Gathering
The GEWO Symposium is an annual event that epitomises the essence of our mission. This gathering is a vibrant forum where ideas meet action, bringing together thought leaders, activists, and change-makers from around the world. Our symposium focuses on crucial themes such as raising women out of oppression, financial empowerment, and creating a community of empowered women.
The 2027 theme for the GEWO Symposium is The Fourth Industrial Revolution – the impact of modern technology on women. This event is being held on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the first day of the 16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women.

Attendees engage in discussions on global transformation, world peace, and practical strategies to advance women’s rights in the area of economic empowerment. The symposium serves as a powerful catalyst for change, sparking dialogues on multiculturalism, mature women in the workforce, and the challenges faced by younger women and mothers in professional settings.
From a systemic perspective, empowerment in the context of the GEWO Symposium refers to the structural transformation of social, economic, and political systems to create environments where women have equal opportunities, rights, and access to resources. It is not just about individual success but shaping institutions, policies and cultural norms to ensure collective gender equity.
Our symposium is more than an event; it’s a milestone in the journey towards a future where every woman’s potential is acknowledged and nurtured.
Join us for our next symposium at a date to be confirmed, where we will delve into pressing global issues affecting women. Stay tuned for more details and registration information.
